Accessibility Statement
Manchester AI Receptionist is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a target standard, and we treat that as something to work towards rather than a finished claim.
What we do
- We build the site with semantic HTML structure and landmark regions, so assistive technologies can understand and navigate the page.
- We provide a “Skip to content” link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation and jump straight to the main content.
- The site is operable with a keyboard — you can reach and use interactive elements without a mouse.
- A responsive, mobile-first layout means the content reflows for small screens and when you zoom in, instead of forcing horizontal scrolling.
- Text and background colours are chosen for readable contrast.
- Animations and motion are an optional enhancement only — the site works fully without them, and it respects your browser or operating system “reduce motion” setting.
- Fonts are self-hosted, so there are no third-party font-loading delays that could leave text invisible while loading.
- The page sets the document language, which helps screen readers pronounce content correctly.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-off task — it is something we keep working on. As we add or change pages, we review them with accessibility in mind, and we aim to improve the experience over time. If a future change introduces a problem, we want to find and fix it rather than leave it in place.
Known limitations
No website is perfect, and some content may not yet fully meet our target standard. We are aware that there is always more to do, and we would rather hear about a problem than have it go unnoticed. If you encounter a barrier that stops you using any part of this site, please tell us so we can address it.
Get in touch
If you have difficulty using any part of this website, or you need information from it in a different format, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help. Where we can, we will provide the information you need in an alternative way, and we aim to respond within a reasonable time.
How we tested
We check the site against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines using a combination of manual review — including keyboard navigation and checking the page structure — and standard browser accessibility tooling. This is an internal process, and we continue to refine it as the site evolves.
